A website needs care beyond its launch. The PHP vulnerabilities announced on 21 October 2026 are a reminder of why website maintenance matters for businesses in Monaco.
A page can look perfectly normal while relying on software that needs updating. Behind the design, someone needs to keep track of software, access rights and technical work. At DADZCOVER, this ongoing care supports the work invested in your website and visibility.
Two critical vulnerabilities, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, prompted a security alert and PHP patches. They can allow attackers to execute malicious code remotely without authentication. PHP runs on the server and powers many websites, including WordPress sites.
The official PHP security advisory of 21 October 2026 calls for immediate updates. Updating a plugin or theme does not patch the server’s PHP engine. You therefore need to check with your hosting provider that the appropriate fix has been applied.
The joint alert published by ENISA also recommends identifying affected applications and coordinating action with service providers. This is exactly when clear responsibilities matter.
As of 22 October 2026, no incident linked to this alert had been observed across the more than 50 websites supported by DADZCOVER. This observation does not mean that a website is invulnerable. It highlights the value of knowing the websites you manage and having a clear point of contact.
Updates and monthly follow-up form part of our support. For a business, the practical questions are straightforward: who looks after the website, who speaks to the hosting provider, and who should receive a report of anything unusual?
A monthly schedule provides a framework for routine checks. However, a critical security patch should not wait until the next planned visit. Emergency response arrangements need to be defined within the maintenance agreement.
It is also important to distinguish an unavailable website from a vulnerable or compromised one. A website that appears to work normally may still need checking.
For a WordPress website, maintenance covers its components and day-to-day operation. Managed website services may have a broader scope, depending on the agreement: hosting environment, monitoring, backups and technical coordination. They do not automatically include management of the company’s entire IT system.
These checks help define an appropriate service. A business information website and an online shop have different availability and recovery requirements.
Choosing DADZCOVER’s support remains optional. We strongly recommend it when a business has no suitably skilled person available to carry out this work. What matters is that someone takes responsibility for maintenance.
Security relies on several complementary measures. Each addresses a particular risk, and its relevance depends on the website and its configuration.
Two-factor authentication strengthens account protection. It should be combined with unique passwords and recovery methods controlled by the business. A former service provider should not retain administrator permissions they no longer need.
Changing the login address may reduce some common automated attempts. However, hiding that address does not fix vulnerabilities or replace proper access controls.
A web application firewall, such as Cloudflare’s WAF, can filter requests using enabled rules. Its effectiveness depends on the configuration and plan in use. It complements updates; it does not make an unpatched PHP server safe.
In Monaco, official digital security resources provide guidance on prevention and responding to a cyberattack. The MonEntreprise portal also offers a resource on information system security policies to help businesses organise responsibilities.
Website design and development in Monaco lays the foundations for your digital presence. Maintenance then helps keep the website working. Meanwhile, Admin Cover helps organise access to your Google, Meta and related accounts, including handovers when team members or providers change.
These services complement one another. Admin Cover focuses on control of digital accounts; it does not replace server maintenance. Together, they help clarify who is responsible for each tool.
It helps keep your website usable for visitors and search tools. It therefore supports your content strategy, without guaranteeing Google rankings or mentions in AI-generated answers.
Not necessarily. Check who handles PHP, WordPress, plugins, backups and restoration. Responsibilities depend on your hosting package and agreement.
Yes. Even without online payments, it relies on software and may include forms or administrator accounts. It still needs ongoing care.
First, identify the hosting provider, the person responsible for technical work, the available access details and the date of the last maintenance. This initial review helps establish priorities and the support required.
Your website represents your business. Its ongoing care deserves the same attention as its design.
